- What is MSF’s bank account for donations from outside of Hong Kong?
We accept donations in HKD or USD by Telegraphic Transfer to the following MSF accounts in Hong Kong:

- Who are “MSF Field Partners”?
“MSF Field Partners” are our monthly donors. A monthly contribution as an MSF Field Partner enables MSF to launch relief operations swiftly to unforeseen emergencies and plan for long term operations. It also helps to reduce our administration costs as the donation process is much more simplified, and therefore more funding can be used directly in our medical relief operations. - Are there any bank charges on credit card donations?
There are bank charges to MSF for all types of credit cards. Donors do not need to pay any of these fees.
*MSF is a registered charity in Hong Kong. For transaction located outside of Hong Kong, international transaction fee may be applied by the credit card-issuing bank. Please check with your bank for details.
- Are there any bank charges on monthly donation via bank account autopay?*
A fee to set up the bank account autopay may be applied but this will vary depending on your bank. Please check with your bank for details. There are no transaction fees charged to MSF by any bank.

- When will my account be debited for a monthly donation?*
Monthly credit card donations will normally be processed around the 15th of each month. If the donation is made through a bank account direct debit, it will be processed on the second business day of each month.

- Will I be notified of the first debit date of my monthly donation?
A donation confirmation letter or email will be sent to inform you of the first debit date of your monthly donation.
- Will I get a receipt for my donation?
We will issue a receipt for all donations of HKD100 or above (Tax deduction is only applicable to Hong Kong residents).
For one-off donations, a donation receipt will be sent about 15 working days following the date of your donation.
For monthly donations, a donation receipt will be issued after the end of each financial year for your entire year’s donation.
- Does the name of the donor printed on the receipt have to be the same as the account holder related to the donation?
Not necessarily. The donation receipt will be issued according to the donor name and details specified on the donation form. When you provide us with personal data about others, please be reminded to obtain their consent.
- Can I donate to a specific country or project?
We appreciate that some of our supporters may have a particular interest in a country or programme in which we work. While in some (rare) circumstances it is possible to have your gift directed toward a specific programme or country where we are currently working, we ask that you contribute unrestricted funding. By not restricting your contribution for a specific emergency or project, you will enable us to allocate our resources more efficiently and where the need is greatest.
- How can I change my monthly donation amount?
You can send an e-mail to us at [email protected] requesting that your donation is changed with your full name and address details so we can identify you, and preferably with your donor number.
